More absurdism. Less violence. More intelligence.

Generative AI Animator With Humor, Sense of

The animators that work or have worked for Walt Disney all seem to come from Los Angeles. Maybe that’s why movie animation all looks the same — either 2d Disney, 3d Pixar.

At least, anime has given us new imagery and story types.

But Hollywood animation isn’t run by animators, but by studio heads who bear the risk for original stories.

There are animations that break the typical molds, however. Most of them feature in the best animation conferences from around the world. Some go no further than that. 

Very few achieve mass popularity. These are the animated movies that looked different in almost every good way. Rango. Fantastic Mr. Fox. And my personal favourite, the Triplets of Belleville. 

But there are far too few of them. Oddtoe is a generative AI animator. To me, it’s an animation house that can imagine 100 new animated comedies and kid’s movies over breakfast. Stories that have a shot at having a positive impact on the audiences that are there, looking for a laugh.

What can I say? It’s fun to be an animator again.
