Port This Baby Elsewhere
On the front porch of the site, plain ol' Oddtoe.com is showing new skin, a quick redesign that I did over the course of two days. The new site shows the new shift that I've taken with what I want to do. No longer just an all illustration site, a personal illustration site, I shifted the thinking of what Oddtoe could be and made it into a company, something I'm starting over here in Australia. Using what I learned in six years at National Geographic, I plan to scoop up enough business in the kids online world during my spare time before the wedding in St. Kilda, Australia and the honeymoon in Malaysia to see if there's a full-time business in it all. So far so good, I have a contract to design and animate the opening page of the National Geographic Kids Web site. Check it out the first design, now live (the main navigation at the top of the page, the Immersive Environment).
This leads me to this blog. A savory experiment into writing. However, if the Oddtoe business, the business of kids, is to flourish, I had better make sure the search term 'Oddtoe' doesn't come up with some of the posts I have here. I realize now the need for pseudonyms, which is ironic since I came up with Oddtoe just for that reason, to hide these thoughts and illustrations. Now I scared myself back to John Ottinger. So that's where you may yet find this blog: in the space of Johnottinger.com. Nothing there yet. And for now, my Flickr site will hold all the blazingly beautiful pictures that Australia provides to this amateur photographer... wild kangaroos in the hills next to Melbourne are the next up.
For those still reading, send me an e-mail, let me know how you're doing and life in the States. It's always good to tweak me, keep the communications going. In the meantime, enjoy all the old posts in the archives, visit my largest spam sponsors (Erection aides and gambling sites) in the comments section, and good luck. For those able to make Cazz and I's wedding in Australia on March 9th, more details on Melbourne, festivals, Aussie footy matches, etc. to come.
This blog will self-destruct in three days...
